Tyler’s First Christmas

Tyler’s First Christmas was spent at Grandma and Grandpa Painter’s house. We drove up to their house on Saturday and stayed until Christmas afternoon. Tyler didn’t really do that well spending the night away from home, but we made it through. While doing the Painter Christmas Tyler met his Great-Grandmother, Great Aunts, Great Uncles and Cousins for the first time. Then, a couple of days after Christmas we had “Christmas” with the Easoz side of the family. Tyler got to meet his Aunt Laura, Uncle Jason, and cousins Anna and Micah for the first time. Tyler received several new clothes, books, toys and one bouncy seat. Here are a few pictures from Christmas week.

Tyler made his first visit back to the pediatrician since his initial visit after his birth. He is growing as expected.

His new stats are:
10.15 pounds (67 percentile)
22 1/4 inches long (61 percentile)
15 1/4 cm head circumference (51 percentile)

He didn’t really like his visit this time. Not only did he not like the LONG wait (45 minutes in the waiting room), he must get that from Grandma Easoz :-) but he also got a shot for Hepatitis B vaccine this time, he cried. By the time we got home- he was ready to eat.

Here is a picture of his first bandaid

Here is a picture of Mom and Tyler once he finished eating after his appointment!

All is well, we are learning each day Tyler’s ways and working on making him a happy baby, most of the time!

4 weeks old today!

We have made it 4 weeks with a little baby in our house. It has definitely been a learning experience for all three of us. Tyler and I have been struggling with figuring out feedings- how much, how long, how to deal with burping and spitting up, and how to cope with those frustrating hiccups. For sleeping we have had several good nights and a few great nights. When I say great I mean 4-5 hours between waking up. This week we had 2 of those- hopefully they will get more frequent. We have had great friends and family come by the house and deliver us delicious meals for the past 4 weeks. I don’t think I will know what to do when I have to start making food for us again :-). Also ,last week we got out of the house for the first time. We went to choir practice- Tyler loves music- he is just not so sure about the talking in between. He is very calm when there is singing or music playing but when there is talking of any kind in between songs he cries :-(. With that said, Tyler has met many new people. Tyler is still looking and discovering new things and I think responding to the sounds of rattles and squeak toys. All in all, it has been a good month- we could do with a little less crying though :-). Here are a few pictures from the month. Enjoy!

Tyler has had playtime- well he was looking around while lying on this mat.

And don’t feel sorry for Toby- he had play time with his buddy Bailey too!

Tyler was able to meet new friends- this is Hannah, she is six weeks older then Tyler.

We prepared for Christmas and took this picture for our Christmas Card this year.

This is a picture of Tyler at 4 weeks old!

And this is one of the faces we saw way too often this month!
