How are we surviving?

Just a little update on how Tyler is doing and how we are adjusting to our newest family member.

GREAT!

(This picture was at the hospital- two days after his birth)

Tyler is 11 days old today. We made it through Jamie’s parents being here for a week helping us out, Thanksgiving with a house full of people, three days with just Jamie and I, and today just Tyler and I! Jamie was sad to go back to work today and leave his little boy, as he should be :-) And I was a little apprehensive about being home for 8-10 hours with just Tyler and I, but so far we are doing well.

Tyler is starting to keep his eyes open a little longer each day and notice things around him. It has been fun to watch his eyes move around.

As for the answers to the questions people keep asking:
1) Toby is very good around Tyler. He knows that he has to be gentle around him. Also he seems very concerned about Tyler’s crying- he always checks to make sure he is ok. Now, Toby was used to sleeping in our room- he is still welcome but since Tyler has been sleeping in his little crib at the foot of our bed- he has opted to sleep elsewhere. Whatever works I suppose.

2) We are sleeping pretty well. At first it was a little hairy since we all didn’t know what we were doing, but we are getting there. We are working on getting a schedule/routine for nighttime so that Jamie can be sure to get plenty of sleep to go to work in the morning. We try to plan his feedings so that he is due for one around 5-5:30am when Jamie gets up for work. It seemed to work last night, so lets hope that continues. But each night has been a little different.

So yes, we are enjoying Tyler and it seems as though our little family is getting along great.

TYLER IS HERE!!!!

Here is a picture of Tyler moments after he was born!

We will post other news soon. Now we just need a little sleep :-)

Another doctor appointment has come and gone without a hospital stay.

The update from the appointment is that I am now 1 1/2 cm dilated and my cervix has started to thin a little bit. The doctor also said that he could feel Tyler’s head so he is ready once my body is ready I guess. We set up another appointment for next Tuesday afternoon, yet hopeful that we will not be needing it.

All in all, there is hope that our little boy will be here for Thanksgiving!

Waiting!

Good News: My blood pressure is back to normal!
OK News: I am still 1 cm dilated.
Sad News: Tyler is still not ready to be born yet :-(.

So we WAIT! Only 11 days until his official due date!

Waiting, Waiting!

Tyler’s room is finished- well as much as it can be before a little baby comes. We feel really good about how it turned out. Here are a couple of pictures.

On another front, I went to the doctor last Friday. I was 1 cm dilated. I also have been having a few mild/random contractions for the past few days. However, the big concern which is causing me to go to the doctor on Wednesday this week instead of Friday is that my blood pressure was high on Friday. I didn’t feel really bad so I hope it was just diet related or something. Nonetheless, if my blood pressure is still high tomorrow, they will admit me to the hospital for bed rest and monitoring I suppose. But I have been trying to relax and take it easy so that if I have to rest I can do that at home and not in a hospital room. But we could be positive and think that I will be more dilated tomorrow and that Tyler will come very soon.

All in all, Jamie and I are definitely ready for Tyler to come and join our family!
