Flying in Dad’s Plane

Yesterday Tyler got his first ride in the airplane his Dad built in the garage! I think he enjoyed it because he was moving around quiet a bit. Yet, I am sure he will remember future flights much more :-)

Jamie finished his required solo hours on Sunday so he is now allowed to take passengers with him. I of course wanted to be the first passenger, so today, after we got off work, Jamie came by the house, pick me up, and we went to the airport. It was a rather hazy afternoon, but we did the flight anyways and could see pretty well. It was exciting to fly around in the airplane that I saw in the making for 3 1/2 years. We flew for somewhere between 30-40 minutes and then landed back at the home airport. Definitely a memorable day, yet, we forgot the camera. :-(

After we left the airport we headed over to a prearranged appointment at the pediatricians office. They had a little “new” parents class that we attended to find a little bit more about the doctor(s) that Tyler will be seeing at the hospital and thereafter. They seem very nice and I think that we will feel comfortable with them taking care of our little boy.

Appointment- All is good

I had another appointment at the Doctor’s office this morning. Again, the appointment was short and the things done were the same. Tyler is measuring at 31 weeks which is good- right on schedule. According to babycenter.com 31 weeks means that he is about 16 inches long and weighs a little over 3 pounds. Also Tyler’s heart beat is 130-140s bpm which is again right on for a little boy.

I have had a little pain on my right side rib cage. The NP, I saw today, told me that it is probably the cartilage being stretched as my belly grows outward. So I just have to watch and make sure that the pain doesn’t get worse or that I don’t have any pre-term labor symptoms.

So all went well. The next appointment is September 28.

On another note, Grandma and Grandpa Easoz purchased a Glider for Tyler’s room last weekend- very comfy! I think that Tyler and I and Jamie and Tyler will have some very special moments in that chair- lots of eating and reading will go on there :-)

Last Monthly Appointment- now every two weeks.

Friday was my last monthly appointment. Now I go every two weeks for a while. At this appointment, I met one of Doctors in the practice. This of course was after waiting almost 2 hours in the waiting room before I actually saw him. That is the most frustrating part- waiting and waiting for a 10 minute appointment (if that long). Oh well ,the outcome was that Tyler and I are doing fine.

After the appointment, Grandma and Grandpa Painter came for a visit and bought their 4th grandchild a crib mattress and an outfit. They wanted to add something to his nursery that he would use and enjoy- I think they picked well. If Tyler is like his mother, he will enjoy his sleep time :-).

Toward the end of the grandparent’s visit, I started to have signs of a chest cold and have been coughing and sneezing quiet a bit. I guess my immune system just let this one slip though. We will survive but it makes it even harder to be comfortable when your sleeping positions are already limited due to the expanded belly I have now. I will survive. I just have to keep telling myself that I am not the only women to ever be pregnant. Less than 3 months to go!

Next appointment is September 14th.
