Tyler’s Room (mostly complete)

Many people have been asking us to post some photos of the nursery, so here they are. My parents worked on painting the walls a pale green and a pale blue color. And Jamie and I put the furniture together shortly after the painting was finished. The pictures on the wall are of favorite nursery rhymes. When thinking of childhood I always think of nursery rhymes so I wanted to pass that on to Tyler as well. We have just about 3 months before Tyler’s expected arrival so we are pleased with how his room is coming together.

Appointment at 24 weeks

I had another doctor’s appointment today. This one they did the diabetes test- they make you drink this bottle of super sugary orange flavored liquid and wait for an hour before having you blood drawn. They tell you to drink the liquid within 5 minutes- I think I finished it in 30 seconds- as fast as possible. There is no need to drag these types of things out. While waiting on the lab I had another appointment with one of the Nurses. She did the usual- took my blood pressure, listened to Tyler’s heart beat and then for the first time- pulled out the measuring tape and measured my belly.

I also received some paperwork on pediatricians in the area and a form that I need to send in to the hospital for pre-admission. Crazy to think that in a little over three months I will be at the hospital preparing to bring home my son. Well there is still lots to do before then but Jamie and I are trying to take it all in stride and enjoy this time. Next appointment is August 31.
