Finished Riveting Front Left Baffles
Yet more baffle work today. I got the left front riveted. I used a combination of riveting techniques including my pneumatic squeezer, the c-frame method and the good 'ol 3x rivet gun w/ requisite bucking bar. I think this came out pretty well.
Another shot from the isde.
and a shot of the side. Notice the reinforcements that get riveted around the bolt hole locations and the retaining clip and lacing slot combination. You can click here for a full-size image so you can see the detail of how this works. There are no rivets on the sides because the cylinders can vibrate quite a bit relative to each other.
This concludes riveting the primary structure of the baffling. I need to make some penetrations (oil lines, fuel lines and ignition wires) and install the round flange for the cabin air feed but that's it.
