Finished Running CHT and EGT probes
Again, not many pictures today, but I got a lot done. I finished running virtually all of the probes wires for the Dynon EMS. The only thing I'm now missing are fuel quantity (duh...wings aren't attached yet), OAT (again, going in the right wing), and fuel flow. I've not yet decided the location of the fuel flow. Some people install it on the firewall side between the mechanical fuel pump and the servo inlet, wheras others install it between the electric pump and the mechanical pump. I think I'm going to put it on the firewall side since that's where the more accurate fuel flow reading will come from. It will complicate things slightly as I will need to make custom hoses to run from the pump to the sensor (on the firewall) back down to the inlet on the servo. Anyway, in the picture above you can see that the Dynon is now reading temps from all CHT and EGT probes, fuel pressure and oil pressure, etc (although the pressure is obviously reading zero). Notice that the oil temp seems to be reading lower than the CHT and EGT probes. The EGT probes have to read something like 1500 degrees...so I would imagine they're more accurate at the higher end of the spectrum.
Tonight I also made headway on the wiring, pulling the flap motor wires, etc. and installing Molex connectors on the wire to make the flap motor easily removeable for overhauling.
