Went Flying; Control Cable Routing
Ok, say cheese. Anyway...Jaime and I flew over to see my grandmother today. It was a great flight. The flight over was rather hot and bumpy but the flight back was nice. We took the DA-20 that I've been renting. Cheaper than a Cessna and faster...but I've said that before. This was one of the older Diamonds (still an Eclipse...not a Katana). It flew one half ball off and the right brake was pretty much shot (had to really get on it when taxiing).
Here I'm playing with my little nephew Conner. Funny kid.
Yes...today's update is just pictures of me -- yeah right. Anyway...here I'm trying to figure out how to get the fuel cap back on (there have been some fuel thefts at RMG recently so I made sure to double-check the quantity manually even though I did it before departure from LZU). I think the cap probably needed replacing or the latching mechanism needed some serious grease. Just one of the things that you have to deal when flying rentals.
Proof that we actually did fly. Some of the trees over that way. Man...I love flying...it has to be the world's greatest hobby. Oh, BTW: when leaving LZU one of the instructors from the FBO and another guy walked up and the guy started mentioning out of the blue how he was thinking of building an RV. I just looked at Jaime and laughed...then I said something to the effect of "well, you're talking to the right guy".
Ok, back that evening. I spent quite a while working on the control cable positioning and trying to figure out the correct way to pass the control cables through the firewall. The called-out locations have given some people fits with my engine setup so I'm triple checking to make sure I don't have the same problems.
