(Incorrect) Firewall Forward Kit Arrived; More Canopy Fairing
Today my firewall forward kit arrived. Unfortunately I really screwed this up. For whatever reason, I was thinking the Lycoming M1B was the verticial induction injected engine...but it's not. The M1B is the horiztonal sump, cold-air induction engine. Oopps...I didn't realize my mistake until I opened up the box and pulled out the cold-air induction filter. I knew then that I had made a mistake. Oh well...with the use of MS access I quickly determined which items I need to return and which items I can keep. I sure hope that Van's does not screw me over with returning this stuff. I hope they will just let me swap the stuff. I think the stuff I'm returning is more expensive than the stuff I'm ordering anyway. We'll see. Van's is usually pretty good about this sort of thing.
Ok, onto some more canopy fairing stuff. I got the fiaring sanded down to the point that I could remove the electrical tape and see what's what. I think it looks ok. It could be better. I have to remind myself to a) keep it safe and b) I'm trying to build a decent-looking airplane here, not win any awards.
