Starting Laying Up Canopy Fairing
This is really one of those things where you just have to roll your sleeves up (errh...down actually) and dive into this stuff head first. If you don't, you'll never learn. I didn't get any in-process pictures because I don't feel my digital camera is old enough to ruin with epoxy resin...but anyway....you can get the gist of what I did here. I started out by riveting a couple of .032 clips to the base of the windscreen to help secure the canopy. Then I put a filet of micro and epoxy at the base of the windscreen so they glass wouldn't sit down in there, then I finally started cutting and laying up glass over it. Quite a learning process this was. This is just a rite of passage that every builder must go through, so I won't bore you with details. I got about three layups done tonight. Three or four more and I'll be fine.
