Plumbed Vent Lines
Ok, so today I actually got a little done on the project. I started working on the plumbing, first with the vent lines. The vent lines come out of the tanks, into the fuselage and come out here at these fittings. This thing is just a modified union fitting. I taped the threads, chucked them into my poor man's lathe (drill press), took a file and scotch-brite pad to 'em and cut the 45 degree angle. Those were pretty fun to make. They point forward to scoop up just a little air and provide a bit of positive pressure in the tanks.
Here's the vent line I made for the right tank. You can see it's a rather funky shape.
Here you can see that the vent line comes in, goes up and over the fuselage side and comes back down to the vent opening on teh bottom skin. (sorry for the blurry picture)
Here's the right side.
