Received New Gear Leg Weldment, Other Items
I got to work late today (which meant that I left later) and had orchestra rehearsal so I didn't get any work done on the project today. I did get a shipment from Van's -- some firewall sealant, pro-seal (for sealing around the steps and the bottom skins at the gear leg weldments), AN4-13A bolts (for gear leg weldments...the AN4-12's included are too short).
Since I'm going with a carb instead of fuel injection, I get to use an electrical automotive fuel pump. The FI guys have to buy a $700 pump...but this one was about $40 bucks. Also, the FI pump has a very complicated assembly procedure that must be done...multiple tubing bends, fittings, etc. The carb setup is very straight-forward. The FI setup will probably average around 3 to 4 grand more than a carb setup when all is said and done.
Also in this order is a new right gear leg weldment and a map box kit. The map box will go on the right side of the panel and will be used for storing sectionals (aviation maps to non-pilots).
