Deburred/Dimpled F-722, Left Foward Side Skin
Today I finished deburring/dimpling the forward bottom skin (F-722). This stuff is .040, which is quite thick. The pneumatic squeezer create absolutely beautiful dimples in this stuff, but the hammered dimples, while acceptable, are not quite as good.
Next I started deburring/dimpling the left forward side skin. We have a lot of stuff going on today, so I worked on this thing on and off...and eventually got it finished. The side skins are .032, which is also fairly thick (but not as thick as the above-mentioned foward bottom skin). I clecoed the doubler plates to the skin to check the fit and it isn't quite deep enough. Looks like I'm going to need to run a countersink through all the holes in the longerons/aux longerons/lower longerons/doubler plates and stiffeners. This sucks...but it's gotta be done. Maybe tomorrow, although I need to take care of some domestic duties such as mowing the lawn, etc.
