Finished Attaching Right Flap
Today I went out and finished attaching the right flap. First thing to do was to finish touching up the spar where I drilled out the rivets...then I dimpled the skin where the flap brace attaches....and countersunk the brace. Then I pop-riveted the brace back onto the spar with MSP-42 rivets (these are the rivets the QuickBuilder's use). Next I set all the flap brace to skin rivets.
I threw the flap on....slide the pin in....and voila....
The duct tape is to prevent the flap from falling over and irrepairably bending the hinge.
...and here's sort of an inside view. Notice that I still need to get the cherry rivets that go on the doubler part. I may actully end up putting some more solid rivets in there. I don't think it would be impossible to reach up through the lightening holes on the end of the wing to buck those.
