Finished Right Flap
This morning Jaime and I drove over to the west side of the state to see our family that was in town from LA (Lower Alabama).
After we returning I set out to work on the right flap. Here's the inboard rib. I riveted the reinforcement plate and platenut on there.
And here's the other side.
Then I started riveting the skins to the ribs. You start with the rear row of rivets. Again, I riveted these using the back-rivet plate as a bucking bar.
...bang bang...cleco....squeeze....bang bang.....squeeze....
...and a few hours later I had a finished flap. Unfortunately, I'm short a couple of pop-rivets for the trailing edge so I'll need to order some more.
Then I sat the flaps on the wings to see how they looked. I like this view.
