Riveted Tank Stiffeners
Today after church was the day...I ripped open the MEK, cleaned everything up, ripped open the Pro-Seal and started riveting. Let me just tell you...this stuff is as annoying as everyone says it is. Jaime came out and took this picture of me back-riveting the stiffeners to the right tank skin.
Tada!! Here are the right stiffeners riveted to the skin. Yes...this is messy...
And here's the outside. You can see here that it cleans up pretty well (except the left-most yet-to-be-cleaned rivet).
And a few hours later I had both tanks' stiffeners riveted in place.
A friend of mine asked the other day how I can do this project...how do I have the patience to do it. My answer was simple: I think about it in pieces instead of a large project. For example, today after I riveted the first stiffener on I thought to myself "that's the last time I'll ever have to rivet that stiffener in place". Right now I'm thinking to myself, "this is the last time I'll ever have to rivet tank stiffeners". This works very well for me. Yeah...I'm weird like that. Gotta go to bed now....
