Wing Rib Prep (Part 1)
Well, the Olympics where on tonight so I decided to work in the living room prepping the wing ribs and spend a little time with Jaime. I elected to do two different things tonight: fluting the ribs and bending the flanges to be exactly 90 degrees from the web. I decided that the easiest way to determine the 90 degree angle is to sit the rib upright on the table with the flange pressed firmly against the table. It becomes very easy to get the angle right that way.
In the above shot Jaime caught me bending the flange to 90 degrees.
Even Toby, our Beagle, decided to get into the action. You know, this carpet was in the house when we bought it three years ago and IT'S GOTTA GO! (we digress...)
Ok, here they are. All 28 aft wing ribs. Now I've just got a load of forward / tank ribs remaining. Maybe I'll do those tomorrow night. Then I've gotta deburr 'em.....
I'm really looking forward to this because after the ribs are prepped things start going together and actually starts resembling a couple of wings!
