Prepared Rudder Skins & Stiffeners
First thing today was dimpling the parts.
Here are the rudder skins dimpled.
Another shot of the dimpled rudder skins.
Here are the rudder parts primed and ready to go!
This is a close-up shot of the inside rudder skins. This SW-P60G2 is really good stuff. It works pretty well and dries almost instantly!
Rudder stiffeners primed...'nuff said.
Stiffeners back-riveted to skin. I did a pretty crappy job of not scratching the outside skins on the back-rivet plate. No harm done...
Update: For the elevators, I actually back-riveted with the back-rivet plate resting on a 1/4 inch piece of plywood placed between two half-inch pieces of plywood. The back-rivet plate rests very flush with the 3/4 plywood and I managed to not scratch the elevators at all!
